What is a CRM ?

A Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system is a software tool used by organizations to manage interactions with customers, track sales activities, and improve business relationships. It acts as a centralized platform where all customer-related information—such as contact details, communication history, and sales progress—is stored and organized.

At its core, a CRM helps businesses build and maintain strong relationships with customers. Instead of keeping data scattered across emails, spreadsheets, or different systems, a CRM brings everything into one place. This makes it easier for teams to access accurate information, understand customer needs, and provide better service.

Main modules included in CRM :

Dashboard – This is typically the central hub of the software. It provides a high-level overview of key performance indicators, such as sales targets, recent activities, and upcoming tasks, often visualized through charts and graphs.

Companies – This section is used to manage the business entities you work with. It stores information about organizations, including their industry, size, location, and the history of your interactions with that specific company.

Contacts – While "Companies" tracks organizations, "Contacts" manages the individual people you communicate with. This module stores personal details like names, email addresses, phone numbers, and job titles.

Leads – These represent potential customers or initial inquiries that have not yet been fully qualified. The goal of this section is to track new prospects from initial contact until they are ready to be converted into a "Deal".

Deals – his module tracks active sales opportunities. It allows users to manage the financial value of a potential sale, track its progress through the sales cycle, and estimate closing dates

Tasks – This is a productivity tool used to manage to-do lists. It allows team members to set reminders for follow-up calls, meetings, or administrative actions associated with specific leads, contacts, or deals

Master – a Master refers to a module where all the core or base data is created and stored, which is then used across the entire system.
