Item Attributes

Define properties such as colour, size, strength or fabric, and their options.

An attribute is a property of items. Its kind decides what it does:

  2. Fill Code (letters, digits and _), Name, Kind and Data Type: List (choose from options; needed for Variant attributes), Text, Number, Date or Yes / No.
  3. For Number: set Number Unit (e.g. kg, cm, %) and Decimals. These fields are only active for Number.

Create an attribute and import its options

This video will show: creating a Size attribute, adding options, importing colours from the colour master, and deactivating an option in use.

Import options

For Colour and Size you can copy options from the existing masters: save the attribute first, then use Import options from → Colour master or Item size master → Import.

Change or remove

  • Add options at any time, for example size XXL.
  • An option or attribute already used by items cannot be deleted: "In use: deactivate instead of deleting". Untick Active instead — it stays on existing items but is no longer offered.
Tips. Keep option codes short: they become part of variant item codes (TSHIRT-NVY-XL), which are limited to 20 characters. Use Descriptive for anything that does not need separate stock — a variant attribute cannot be added later to a product that already has variants.
