What is Posting in Accounts Receivable ?

Posting is the process of confirming and transferring recorded transactions into the final financial records. It ensures that all customer-related transactions are properly updated and reflected in the accounting system.

Main Sections in Posting

1. Receipt Voucher Posting
This section is used to post receipt voucher transactions after they are created. Once posted, the received payment is officially recorded and the customer’s outstanding balance is updated.

2. Customer Debit Note Posting
Customer Debit Note Posting is used to finalize debit note entries. After posting, the additional charges or adjustments are officially added to the customer’s account.

3. Customer Credit Note Posting
Customer Credit Note Posting is used to confirm credit note transactions. Once posted, the credited amount is applied to the customer’s account and the outstanding balance is adjusted accordingly.
