HR Setup

Company-wide settings for day rates, working hours, leave balances, employee codes and loans, and naming your salary parts.

HR Setup holds the company-wide settings that decide how payroll, leave balances, loans and employee codes behave, and what your salary parts are called. It is usually set once, when you start using HR, by the HR manager or the implementation team.

Open HR Setup. It has four tabs.

General tab

These settings apply to the company you are logged in to. Change them and click Update; they take effect straight away.

Earnings and Deductions tab

Bizmagnet has 15 earning slots and 10 deduction slots per company. Here you give them names and decide which are used.

  1. Choose the Company.
  2. For each earning you pay, type Description En and Description Ar, tick Visible, and tick Print to show it on payslips.
  3. Leave unused slots unticked – they won't appear anywhere.
  4. Click Update.

Keep the order. Payroll uses Earnings1 as Basic, Earnings2 as Housing and Earnings3 as Transport, and puts absences in Deduction1, loans in Deduction4 and other deductions in Deduction6. Name these slots accordingly, and keep the word "Housing" in the housing name so the House Allowance rule can fill it.

Below the grid, Other Deduction for payroll chooses which deduction slot receives other deductions when vacation salary is generated. Tick Have other deduction, choose the slot (e.g. Other Deductions) and click Save OtherDeduction.

Dynamic Format tab

Only needed if you import monthly timesheets from Excel (see Timesheets). Describe the layout of your sheet:
